    1. What is my balance?
You can check you account balance by logging into On-line Banking, calling QuikCheck at (804) 353-8012 or (800) 944-3622, or speaking with one of Entrust FCU's Member Service Representatives.

    2. Why am I not able to log in to Entrust FCU's On-line Banking?
If you are having problems logging into On-line Banking, please refer to our step-by-step "On-line Banking Log-In Directions." If you've tried your password several times, you may be locked out and will need to contact Entrust FCU at (804) 353-8012, (800) 944-3622, or efcu@entrustfcu.com to unlock your account. If you are able to log into On-line Banking, but the screen does not come up, it may be temporarily unavailable, and you can try to log in again later.

    3. Can you mail a check for me?
We will be happy to issue a check and mail it for you. You may also have a check issued to yourself and sent to your address that Entrust FCU has on file by logging into On-line Banking and clicking on "More Features" and "Check Withdrawal" or calling or QuikCheck at 804-353-8012 or 800-944-3522.

    4. Can you do a transfer between accounts for me?
We can do a transfer for you via QuikCheck, On-line Banking, or by contacting us during our business hours at (804) 353-8012, (800) 944-3622, or efcu@entrustfcu.com.

    5. What is the difference between Balance and Available Balance?
When you make a purchase using your Visa REWARDS ChekCard, the merchant sends an electronic authorization request to Entrust FCU for the amount of the purchase. A hold is automatically put on the money in your account for the amount of the request. The funds in your account can still be viewed in your "Balance" and "Transaction History" via On-line Banking, but the funds will no longer be available in your "Available Balance." The "Available Balance" is the amount of money that is free of authorization request holds and available for you to withdraw or to use when we post transactions. When a merchant sends through the completed Visa REWARDS ChekCard transaction, the transaction is posted, the hold is released, and it can be viewed in your "Transaction History." This transaction may take a few hours or few days to be viewed depending on when the merchant submits it.

    6. Why is my Visa REWARDS ChekCard being declined?
Please contact Entrust FCU for more information at (804) 353-8012, (800) 944-3622, or efcu@entrustfcu.com.

    7. I am traveling overseas. Do I need to tell you?
It would be helpful if you told us when you are traveling overseas, and for how long, so we can make a note on your account. If you do not tell us, we may flag your account for suspicious activity because your Visa Credit Card and/or Visa REWARDS ChekCard is being used somewhere else in the world. This is a safety measure to avoid fraud. If you are overseas for more than one year, you will need to contact us annually to keep your account from being re-flagged.

    8. How do I wire funds into my Entrust account?
Contact the financial institution and provide them with the following information in the form that they request:

    VACORP Lynchburg, VA
    ABA 251484323
    Entrust FCU Richmond, VA
    Acct 251082288
    Your Name
    Your EFCU Account Number

    9. How can I avoid overdrafts?
  • Keep a checkbook register. As soon as you do a Chekcard transaction deduct it from your balance.
  • Only spend what is available in your account. There is no float on Chekcard transactions. Holds are immediate in most cases.
  • The Transaction History and Balance do not reflect holds that are on your account. Look at your Available Balance to see what is actually available in your account.
  • Remember: If you have your account setup to pull from your share account in the event of an overdraft, please remember that Federal Reserve Regulation D limits the number of automatic transfers or withdraws from a share account to six per month.
  • Consider opening an Overdraft Line-of-Credit. This line-of-credit would cover overdrafts from your share draft account and the only cost is the low interest rate during the time of use.
  • Please keep in mind that the holds on your account are not all inclusive. It is at the merchant's discretion to send through an authorization and gas stations typically send through an authorization for a set amount (such as $1.00) prior to you pumping your gas.

    10. When do I choose Credit or Debit?
Has this ever happened to you? You are checking out with the grocery clerk, and she asks you, "Debit or Credit?" Naturally, because you're using your Entrust Visa REWARDS ChekCard, you choose debit, right? Not necessarily.

When using your Entrust Visa REWARDS ChekCard (also known as a debit card), you may have the option of choosing credit or debit - and both options will take money straight from your Checking Account. And as it turns out, what many think would be the most logical option - "debit" - is not always the best answer.

Choose credit! The credit option provides the following benefits:
  • Gives you REWARDS points - You earn 1 point per $5 on signature-based (a.k.a. credit) transactions* with your Visa REWARDS ChekCard. We can combine these points with your Visa REWARDS Platinum Credit Card, too. Just let us know!**
  • Greater fraud protection - When you choose credit with your Visa REWARDS ChekCard, you are protected by Visa's 0% liability should any fraud occur on your account.
  • It avoids PIN fees - Entrust FCU allows 10 FREE PIN-based (a.k.a. debit) transactions with your Visa REWARDS ChekCard per month. Beyond that, it's $1 per transaction.

When to choose debit? When you want cash - choose debit. If you need cash back at the check out or if you're at an ATM, you will have to use your PIN.

Quick tip! Does the card terminal automatically come up ready for your PIN when you are making your purchase? If so, push "cancel" and this will cause it to go through as a credit transaction.

*REWARDS points expire at third calendar year after first accrual.
**ChekCard and Platinum card must be under same member number to be combined.
